I graduated from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, BMus (Hons) Performance.
In 2017 I became a finalist of the Liszt Society International Piano Competition, London. I was selected to take part in the “Lang Lang Inspires” massed piano day at the Royal Festival Hall, won a few youth piano competitions and had a lot of my own evening recitals including those in London, Dartford, Maidstone, Deal, Hythe.
After starting the piano at six years of age, I soon decided to devote my life to music while studying with Natalia Afanasieva at the Junior Music School in Moscow. At the age of eight I was playing with a professional orchestra.
When my family moved to England I continued my musical education at the Royal College of Music, Junior Department, studying with Aaron Shorr. I soon gained a scholarship at The Purcell School where I studied with great musicians who strengthened my commitment to pursue a career as a pianist.
In 2010 I was awarded a scholarship and a Peter Clarke bursary to study at the Royal Academy of Music, but I had to leave it soon after for health reasons.
I have taken part in various concerts in London, Kent and Hertfordshire: Beethoven Concert in Holy Trinity Cliftonville, Chillenden Charity Festival, the Arts Club Mayfair, Benslow Music Trust concert in Hitchin, Wigmore Hall, Steinway Hall as well as many others. I participated in the Scarlatti Marathon in Manchester (Royal Northern College of Music) and was invited to perform new compositions at the piano teacher’s conference in Liverpool. Since the age of eleven I took part in the Deal Festival Young Performers Platform every summer and played a solo piano and organ recital after gaining a Deal Festival Award. On winning the Piano Competition at St Edmund’s School I was invited to perform Weber’s Concertstuck with the Folkestone & Hythe Orchestral Society (conductor Graham Harvey). I was also invited by acclaimed pianist and composer John McCabe to take part in the Young Performer Concert at The Sittingbourne Music Society.
I have participated in Master Classes with Arthur Pizarro, Dmitri Alexeev, Christopher Elton, Pascal Devoyon, Stephen Hough and Freddy Kempf and received compliments from Christine Talbot-Cooper, the founder of the Piano Trio Society, Christine Cunning, the manager of the Deal festival of Music and Arts, concert pianist Pascal Roge and others.
I play a wide classical repertoire including some great music works that are rarely performed, e.g. Variations on a theme by Rode by Carl Cherny or Spanish Caprice by Moritz Moszkowski. I believe that it is important to understand the context and environment of the music at the time it was created, and conduct this understanding to the audience. So my approach to music of different periods such as baroque, classicism, romanticism or modernism would be entirely different.
I am also interested in developing piano techniques and have invented my own advanced ways of practice. There are a few particular virtuoso pieces in my repertoire such as Scherzo by Prokofiev, Mephisto Waltz by Liszt, Gaspard de la nuit by Ravel and Poissons d’or by Debussy.
I have worked with various ensembles including piano trio, piano quintet, violin/piano duo and voice/piano duo. I was invited, together with other members of Kingfishers trio, to perform at St. John’s Church, Notting Hill, and Wigmore Hall. In 2012 I took part in piano trio school in Aldeburgh where I worked with a concert pianist Tom Poster.
Currently I am interested in performing with opera and lieder singers as I would like to apply for the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at the Royal Opera House. In February this year I played an orchestra part (piano transcription) at the opera production, Ravel, ‘L’enfant et les sortilèges’, performed by Trinity Laban students and have taken part in Elizabeth Schumann lieder competition. I am looking for any opportunities to perform with the singers.
